World Cup Bound! England crush Latvia as Kane hits double!

England made it official – they’re heading to the World Cup.
Thomas Tuchel’s side sealed qualification in style, smashing Latvia 5–0 and keeping their unbeaten run spotless. The coach might have questioned the fans last week, but there was no doubting his players this time.

Anthony Gordon opened the floodgates before Harry Kane grabbed a brilliant brace, while a late own goal and Eberechi Eze’s neat finish wrapped up another dominant win.

Fans Give Tuchel an Earful

It wasn’t all smooth between the boss and the stands. After Tuchel called out the quiet atmosphere at Wembley, travelling England fans came with chants full of irony:
Tuchel, we’ll sing when we want!” and “Are we loud enough for you?” echoed around the small, rain-soaked stadium.

Tuchel just smiled and waved — job first, banter later.

Gordon Lights the Fuse

For 25 minutes, Latvia held their shape, sitting deep and defending for their lives. But one mistake was all England needed.
A long ball from John Stones found Anthony Gordon, who danced inside his marker and curled a beautiful strike into the far corner.
Cue the noise. Cue the floodgates.

Kane Takes Over

Once Harry Kane got involved, the game turned into a masterclass.
His first goal was pure brilliance — a quick spin and a thunderous low shot that flew past the keeper. Moments later, he was fouled in the box, stepped up, and smashed in the penalty to make it 3–0 before halftime.

That’s 76 goals for his country. Captain, leader, finisher.

Clean Sheets and Confidence

Jordan Pickford barely broke a sweat but still claimed his ninth straight clean sheet for England — a new record. Ezri Konsa and John Stones were solid at the back, cutting out Latvia’s rare counterattacks.

The fourth goal came in comedic fashion when a Latvia substitute turned the ball into his own net, before Eberechi Eze added a stylish fifth.

England never looked in danger. Ruthless, professional, and ready for the big stage.

Next Stop: The World Cup

With two games left, England have already won Group K.
Tuchel’s men are flying, scoring for fun, and conceding nothing. The fans may tease, but deep down they know — something special is building.

Can England carry this form into next summer’s World Cup? Or will the pressure rise when the real test begins?
