Juventus hit top gear in five-star win over Cremonese

Statement victory in Turin

Juventus delivered their most emphatic performance of the season on Monday night, sweeping aside Cremonese 5-0 to climb into third place in Serie A. It was a result that underlined the Bianconeri’s growing momentum, with five wins from their last six league matches propelling them level on points with Napoli and Roma, ahead of both on goal difference.

Only Inter Milan and AC Milan sit above Juventus in the table, with Napoli still holding a game in hand, but this dominant display served as a reminder that Massimiliano Allegri’s side are firmly back in the title conversation.

Early control and ruthless finishing

Juventus wasted little time asserting themselves. The breakthrough arrived after 12 minutes when Gleison Bremer’s ambitious strike from distance took a decisive deflection, wrong-footing Emil Audero and rolling into the net. It was fortunate, but it set the tone.

Two minutes later, fortune gave way to quality. A swift counterattack orchestrated by Khéphren Thuram carved Cremonese open, and Jonathan David finished clinically to double the lead. The visitors were already reeling, struggling to cope with Juventus’ pace and physicality through midfield.

The evening unravelled further for Cremonese before halftime. Head coach Davide Nicola was sent off for furious protests following a VAR decision that denied his side a penalty. Moments later, Juventus were awarded one at the other end. Although Audero saved Kenan Yildiz’s initial effort onto the post, the Turkish forward reacted fastest to convert the rebound and make it 3-0.

Second-half procession

Any hope of a response vanished almost immediately after the restart. Weston McKennie arrived at the back post to poke home Juventus’ fourth just two minutes into the second half, with Filippo Terracciano unfortunate to see his goal-line intervention recorded as an own goal.

McKennie ensured there was no ambiguity later on, rising to head home from close range and complete a commanding five-goal haul. From there, Juventus cruised, controlling possession and tempo with ease as Cremonese offered little resistance.

Momentum building at the right time

For Juventus, this was not just a big win, but a timely one. Goals have sometimes been hard to come by this season, making this their highest-scoring league performance particularly significant. With confidence growing and results following, Allegri’s side are beginning to look like genuine contenders again.

Cremonese, meanwhile, remain 13th after extending their winless run to six matches, leaving serious questions about their direction as the season progresses.
