Inter hit back from two down to thrash Pisa as PSG edge Auxerre

Serie A leaders recover from shock start while PSG return to top of Ligue 1

Inter recovered from a stunning early setback to claim a 6-2 win over relegation-threatened Pisa at San Siro and maintain their commanding lead at the top of Serie A.

The hosts were stunned as Stefano Moreo scored twice to put Pisa two goals ahead, with Yann Sommer at fault for the opener following a costly goalkeeping error. Despite the shock, Inter responded emphatically and were already in front by half-time.

Piotr Zielinski converted from the penalty spot before Lautaro Martínez and Francesco Pio Esposito both headed home within six minutes late in the first half to turn the match on its head.

Inter dominate after interval

Inter missed several chances to extend their lead after the break before Federico Dimarco finally found the net eight minutes from time. Late goals from Ange-Yoan Bonny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan added further gloss to an emphatic scoreline.

The victory moves Inter on to 52 points, six clear of second-placed Milan, who travel to Roma on Sunday. Defending champions Napoli sit third on 43 points ahead of their clash with Juventus. Pisa remain bottom of the table on 14 points.

Barcola strike sends PSG back to the summit

In Ligue 1, Bradley Barcola’s delicate chipped finish secured a 1-0 win for Paris Saint-Germain away at Auxerre and returned the champions to the top of the table.

The 23-year-old winger was PSG’s main attacking threat as they dominated proceedings but struggled to find a breakthrough. Auxerre goalkeeper Donovan Léon delivered a superb performance to keep the hosts in the contest, denying Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Gonçalo Ramos on multiple occasions.

Late breakthrough finally arrives

PSG continued to push after the break, with Barcola narrowly missing on several occasions before finally finding the decisive moment. Ousmane Dembélé released him on the counterattack and Barcola calmly lifted the ball over Léon to settle the contest.

The win moves PSG back above Lens, who can reclaim top spot with victory away at Marseille. Auxerre remain inside the relegation zone, six points from safety.

Late drama elsewhere in Europe

In La Liga, struggling Levante claimed a dramatic 3-2 win over Elche thanks to Alan Matturro’s stoppage-time winner. The only Bundesliga fixture of the evening ended goalless, with St Pauli and Hamburg sharing a 0-0 draw.
