Haaland, Kane, Mbappé: Who Rules Europe’s Goal Race?
The Year of the Goal Machines
It’s rare to see one striker in unstoppable form.
This season, Europe has three of them — and they’re rewriting the record books.
From England to Spain to Germany, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, and Kylian Mbappé are scoring for fun. Each of them is averaging more than a goal per game. And each one is carrying both club and country on his back.

The Numbers Don’t Lie
Let’s start with Erling Haaland. The Manchester City forward has already 21 goals in 12 matches for club and country this season. His trademark calmness in front of goal hasn’t faded — if anything, he looks hungrier than ever.
Next up, Harry Kane. The English striker’s move to Bayern Munich seems to have unlocked a new version of him. With 19 goals in just 12 games, he’s combining ruthless finishing with that trademark intelligence in the box.
And then there’s Kylian Mbappé. At just 26, the Real Madrid star already looks like a veteran. His pace, confidence, and eye for goal have brought him 17 goals in 13 matches and that’s only enough for third place among Europe’s top scorers. Crazy, right?

The Golden Shoe Race Is On
The European Golden Shoe, given to the top scorer across all leagues, is shaping up to be a three-way war. Only a fraction of their goals even come from league games — meaning the rest are on international duty or in Europe’s toughest competitions.
And when you compare them to the rest, the gap is huge.
Ousmane Dembélé has been sidelined by injuries.
Alexander Isak is still chasing form after his big summer transfer. Robert Lewandowski, now 37, often starts on the bench.
Even Viktor Gyökeres, last season’s Gerd Müller Trophy winner, can’t keep up after moving to Arsenal’s tougher league.
The Verdict
It’s early days, but the story’s already epic:
Haaland. Kane. Mbappé.
Three men. One prize.
And a whole season of goals still to come.
