Goals, Chaos, and Comebacks: Africa’s Final Qualifying Night!
Wild finishes from Rabat to Boukhalfa
As Africa’s qualifiers wrapped up, Morocco, Algeria, The Gambia, Uganda, Mozambique, and Guinea all produced storylines to remember — from penalty chaos to late drama and hat-tricks galore.
Morocco finish in style
Already qualified Morocco edged Congo 1–0 in Rabat.
Achraf Hakimi delivered a perfect cross, and Youssef En Nesyri coolly side-footed home to seal their unbeaten run.
Job done — professionalism at its best.

Algeria survive a late scare
In Boukhalfa, Algeria came from behind to beat Uganda 2–1 thanks to two ice-cold penalties from Mohamed Amoura.
Steven Mukwala had shocked the home crowd early, but Amoura kept his nerve — twice — to flip the game in stoppage time.
The Gambia go goal-crazy
The Gambia went wild in Seychelles, winning 7–0.
Abdoulie Manneh bagged a hat-trick, Adama Sidibeh netted twice, and Musa Barrow added two more in a pure goal-fest.
Both teams were already out, but The Scorpions ended their run with a bang.
Mozambique’s fast start
It took just five minutes for Geny Catamo to fire Mozambique ahead in a 1–0 win over Somalia.
They saw out the game comfortably to finish their campaign on a high.

Guinea and Botswana share the points
Guinea drew 2–2 with Botswana in a thrilling back-and-forth contest.
Segolame Boy opened for Botswana, before Abdoul Traore and Aliou Balde turned it around. But Gape Mohutsiwa equalized in stoppage time to snatch a point for the visitors.
