Eze Hits Stunning Hat-Trick as Arsenal Destroy Spurs in North London Derby

Eze’s Hat-Trick Leads Arsenal to Dominant Derby Win Over Tottenham

Arsenal produced one of their most memorable North London derby performances in years, beating Tottenham 4–1 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to a sensational hat-trick from Eberechi Eze. The win came at the perfect moment, just a day after Manchester City’s defeat at Newcastle, allowing Arsenal to open a six-point lead at the top of the Premier League.

The build-up to the derby was full of tension. Earlier in the week, Eze’s mural outside the Emirates had been vandalised, and a joking comment from a Tottenham fan online sparked anger. But Arsenal were delighted to remind everyone why they fought so hard to sign Eze in August. His mural now reads: “All roads lead home.” On Sunday, he proved exactly why.

Trossard Opens the Scoring

Arsenal controlled the game from the first minute. Spurs arrived with a defensive gameplan—Thomas Frank switched to a back three and sat extremely deep—but it backfired quickly. After a long spell of Arsenal possession, Leandro Trossard broke the deadlock. A clever run behind the defence was picked out by Mikel Merino, and Trossard spun away before firing past Guglielmo Vicario.

Eze Takes Over

From there, it became the Eze show. His first goal was a brilliant piece of footwork on the edge of the box before smashing the ball into the corner. His second and third followed a similar pattern: clean finishes into each corner after finding pockets of space in dangerous areas. Every time he touched the ball, the stadium rose.

Tottenham were furious and frustrated. Micky van de Ven raged at his teammates after the second goal, and Frank abandoned his defensive plan at half-time, switching to a 4-3-3. It made no difference—36 seconds into the second half, Eze curled in his hat-trick goal.

Richarlison Scores From Distance but Spurs Offer Little

Richarlison did score a remarkable 45-yard lob with David Raya off his line, but it was their only bright moment. Spurs finished the first half with zero touches in Arsenal’s box, and their expected goals total was just 0.07—a worrying sign for a team hoping for a top-four challenge.

Arsenal kept attacking and came close to more goals through Declan Rice and Eze again, but Vicario prevented further damage.

For Arsenal, this was a victory full of confidence, control, and star quality. For Spurs, it was another painful reminder of the gap between the two clubs.
