Endrick in Trouble at Real Madrid as His Dream Turns into a Fight for Survival

Brazil’s Golden Boy Left on the Bench Again

He was supposed to be the next superstar of Brazilian football. The new Galactico. The heir to Real Madrid’s throne of future legends. But at just 19, Endrick’s story in Spain has taken an unexpected turn.

After a promising debut season with 37 appearances and seven goals, Endrick’s second year under Xabi Alonso has become a nightmare. The teenager has played only 14 minutes this season, coming off the bench once in a 4–0 win over Valencia.

For the fourth international window in a row, he has been left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad. With a World Cup approaching, his career momentum has stalled completely.

From Hope to Frustration

Endrick joined Real Madrid in July 2024, just after turning 18. Expectations were enormous after a €72 million move from Palmeiras. His debut year was solid, but not spectacular. Still, fans saw potential in his sharp instincts and goal-scoring touch.

Then came the setbacks. A hamstring injury in May ruled him out of the Club World Cup and delayed his start to the new season. Since returning, he has barely featured.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague says Alonso rates Endrick’s talent but prefers other options for now. “He is a finisher but has not yet adapted to Real’s rhythm,” Balague explained. “He can become a regular scorer, but right now others fit better.”

Stay or Go

Real Madrid are reportedly open to a loan in January. Lyon have already shown interest, while Premier League clubs like West Ham and Aston Villa are keeping an eye on him.

A move could help Endrick regain confidence and minutes, but it also carries risk. If he struggles elsewhere, his path back to Madrid could be even harder.

For now, Endrick wants to stay and fight. He loves Madrid and believes his chance will come. But with the World Cup getting closer and Brazil looking elsewhere, time may not be on his side.

Real Madrid paid a record fee for a teenager hoping to shape their next generation. Whether Endrick becomes a Galactico or fades into football’s what-if list depends on what happens in the next few months.
