Dortmund Stay Hot: Adeyemi the Difference Maker

Signal Iduna Park never disappoints. Under the lights in Dortmund, Niko Kovac’s men made it three league wins in a row, with Karim Adeyemi’s thunderbolt proving the difference in a tense 1-0 victory over Wolfsburg.

Fast Start, Early Breakthrough

The energy inside the stadium was buzzing from the start. Dortmund pressed hard in the opening minutes, nearly striking within seconds through Adeyemi. Wolfsburg tried to slow the pace, but their resistance cracked in the 20th minute.

Adeyemi, fresh off a goal last week, unleashed a left-footed rocket from distance that flew past Kamil Grabara and sent the Yellow Wall wild. The German forward almost doubled his tally before halftime, testing Grabara again with a powerful shot. Maximilian Beier also came close with a header that grazed the post, but the score stayed 1-0 at the break.

Wolfsburg Hang On

Despite Dortmund’s dominance, Wolfsburg almost stole an equalizer right after the restart. Konstantinos Koulierakis rose highest from a corner, and his header was just inches from crossing the line. A collective sigh of relief swept through the home crowd.

That near-miss was a warning sign. Dortmund’s sharpness faded after halftime, their attack struggling to recapture the first-half spark. Wolfsburg stayed compact, waiting for a chance to pounce.

Nail-Biting Finish

As the game entered its final 15 minutes, Dortmund finally threatened again. Felix Nmecha connected with a header, but it lacked power to trouble Grabara. Soon after, coach Kovac made changes—bringing on Jobe Bellingham and Julian Brandt to inject fresh energy.

Brandt nearly killed the game late on, racing through on goal, but Koulierakis produced a heroic last-ditch tackle. Moments later, Moritz Jenz blocked Serhou Guirassy’s shot with another perfectly timed challenge. Wolfsburg’s defenders were doing everything to keep their team alive.

In the end, though, Adeyemi’s strike was enough. The Yellow Wall erupted at full time as Dortmund celebrated another three points, extending their winning run to three matches and keeping momentum alive.

What’s Next

Dortmund will look to continue their hot streak against Mainz on matchday five, while Wolfsburg, suffering their first defeat of the season, face a tough trip to Leipzig.

Signal Iduna Park remains a fortress—and with Adeyemi firing, Dortmund look hungry for much more this season.
