Disaster at Old Trafford: One Corner, Two Mistakes, Zero Excuses
A Night That Started Slowly
Manchester United endured another frustrating home match as a late strike from Soungoutou Magassa earned West Ham a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. United went into the game looking to build on their comeback win at Crystal Palace, but the atmosphere quickly turned tense.
Dalot Breaks the Deadlock
After a slow opening, United began to grow into the match. Bruno Fernandes almost created the opener with a bending shot pushed away by Alphonse Areola. It was Diogo Dalot who finally delivered the breakthrough. A deflected shot from Casemiro fell kindly to Dalot and he calmly finished to give United the lead early in the second half.

Missed Chances and Rising Pressure
Before the goal, United had several half chances. Joshua Zirkzee was denied on the line by former United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka, while Fernandes clipped the post with an acrobatic effort. Old Trafford expected United to push on after the Dalot goal, but things went the other way.
West Ham Fight Back
West Ham stayed in the match and grew in belief. Jarrod Bowen battled for every ball and worked tirelessly to trouble the United defence. United failed to manage set pieces under pressure, and that eventually proved costly. With seven minutes left, West Ham won a corner that United failed to clear.
A Late Gut Punch
Bowen flicked the delivery at the near post. Noussair Mazraoui cleared off the line but only into the path of Magassa. He struck first time through a crowd of bodies and into the net to make it 1-1. Old Trafford fell silent, then angry.
Boos at Full Time
United pushed forward again, but Fernandes sent their best late chance wide. The final whistle was met by boos from the home fans, highlighting the ongoing frustration around the team. A rebuild is clearly underway, but nights like this show how far there is left to go.
West Ham celebrated a hard-earned point. United were left to question how a promising display once again slipped away in a match they could — and should — have won.
