Chelsea Survive 4-3 Madness at Wolves

First Half Magic, Second Half Madness

Chelsea booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter finals after surviving a wild 4-3 thriller at Molineux. Enzo Maresca’s men looked unstoppable in the first half, racing into a three goal lead thanks to Andrey Santos, Tyrique George and a cheeky chip from Estevão. Wolves fans turned on their manager Vitor Pereira with chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning” as their side trailed 3-0 at the break.

But the game flipped after halftime. Wolves fought back with fierce determination, and suddenly the drama exploded. Tolu Arokodare’s tidy finish gave the home side life, and David Moller Wolfe made it 3-2, sending panic through Chelsea’s back line.

Red Card Chaos and Late Drama

Liam Delap’s disastrous cameo added even more fuel to the fire. The young striker was booked for shoving Yerson Mosquera before recklessly leading with an elbow on Emmanuel Agbadou, earning himself a red card within minutes of entering the pitch.

Even after Jamie Gittens smashed a beauty into the top corner to make it 4-3, Wolves could not find the equaliser. The final whistle brought relief for Chelsea and applause for the spirited hosts who left everything on the pitch.

Pereira Refuses to Give Up

Despite another loss, Wolves boss Vitor Pereira remained defiant. “We showed spirit, character and quality. If we play like this, with energy and confidence, we can turn it around. We just need one win to believe again.”

Chelsea advance to face Cardiff in the next round but they will know this could have easily slipped away.
