Can the Champs Be Stopped? PSG vs. Strasbourg Showdown!

Paris in Control  But the Race Is Tight

No surprises here. Paris Saint-Germain are once again leading the Ligue 1 table after seven rounds. Still, it hasn’t been an easy ride.
Only one point separates them from Lyon in fourth, showing that the title race might be closer than usual this year.

Luis Enrique’s men have been unstoppable at home so far, three wins from three, all with clean sheets. That’s already as many home shutouts as they managed in their last sixteen league matches in Paris.
The Parisians haven’t failed to score at home in Ligue 1 since August 2023, and they’ve already bagged five goals in front of their own fans this season.

History Strongly Favors PSG

It’s simple Strasbourg just can’t win in Paris.
Since the 1970s, they have never beaten PSG away, and the Parisians have taken the last six meetings at home, scoring at least three goals in most of them.
If history repeats itself, this could be another long night for the visitors.

Strasbourg: Young, Brave, and Dangerous

Strasbourg may not have PSG’s star power, but they make up for it with energy and spirit.
Before the international break, they exploded with goals, their best attacking display since coach Liam Rosenior took charge.
They’ve already won four of their five away games across all competitions, usually by a single goal margin.
Scoring twice or more in four straight away matches proves they can hurt even the best defenses.

Defensively, though, they’ve started to leak goals again, conceding five in their last two away league games as many as in the previous eleven combined.

Team News and Injuries

PSG might be missing some key names — Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Joao Neves are doubts with hamstring issues.
Marquinhos and Senny Mayulu could also stay sidelined, while Fabien Ruiz struggles with a hip injury. On the bright side, Desire Doue might return.
In their last match, Nuno Mendes scored his first of the season before Ethan Mbappe Lottin grabbed a dramatic equalizer.

For Strasbourg, Saidou Sow is out, and several others — including Mamdou Sarr, Emanuel Emegha, and Sebastian Nanasi — are questionable.
Ben Chilwell could return after illness, while Panichelli and Godo, who both netted twice last time out, are full of confidence.

Our Prediction

We say: PSG 2–1 Strasbourg
The champions know how to grind out results, and that’s what separates them from the rest. Strasbourg will fight, but PSG’s quality — especially at home — should be too much in the end.
