BET TIP: Barcelona vs Elche

Pressure on the Champions

Barcelona head into Sunday’s clash with Elche knowing there’s no more room for mistakes. After losing two of their last three La Liga matches — including last weekend’s painful 2–1 El Clásico defeat to Real Madrid — Hansi Flick’s men must respond quickly if they want to stay in the title race.

The Catalan giants sit second in the table, five points behind their fierce rivals, and could find themselves eight adrift by kickoff. They’ve scored more goals than any other side in the league (25 in 10 games), but lately their defensive cracks have shown. A home win on Sunday isn’t just expected — it’s essential.

Elche’s Surprise Start

Elche have been one of this season’s surprise stories. Back in the top flight after promotion, they’ve held their own, sitting eighth with 14 points from 10 games. Eder Sarabia’s side may not be winning often — just one victory in their last five league outings — but they’ve proved tough to beat, grinding out five draws already.

However, their away record remains worrying: no wins in five on the road. And history is very much against them. Elche have never beaten Barcelona away — not once. The last time these sides met, Barça cruised to 3–0 and 4–0 victories.

Team News

There’s finally some good news for Barça fans — Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo are back in full training and expected to feature. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia is close to returning but likely won’t be risked yet.

The bad news? Flick is still without several key players. Gavi, Ter Stegen, Christensen, Raphinha, and Pedri all remain sidelined, while teenage star Lamine Yamal continues to play through a minor groin issue. Expect Marc Casado to step in again in midfield.

Elche, on the other hand, have a clean bill of health and will bring a full squad to Barcelona. Andre Silva, with four goals this season, will lead the attack, while Barça loanee Hector Fort should start on the bench.

Prediction

Barcelona are hurt and hungry. Elche have spirit but lack the firepower to handle a wounded champion. Expect Flick’s side to come out strong, control possession, and get the job done in front of their home crowd.

Prediction: Barcelona 3–1 Elche
A night of redemption for the Catalans  and maybe the start of another winning run.
