Barcelona Drop 5 Goals as Ferran Torres Scores Hat-Trick and Betis Collapse

Barcelona Hit Five in Seville

Barcelona produced a huge 5–3 win over Real Betis on Saturday in LaLiga. Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick, Lamine Yamal finished a penalty, and Roony Bardghji impressed in a rare start. The result increased Barcelona’s league lead to four points before Real Madrid play Celta Vigo on Sunday.

Torres Takes Over

Torres has gone from a rotation player to Hansi Flick’s most trusted striker. He now has 13 goals this season, with 11 in LaLiga. Only Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé has scored more in the league. Torres started ahead of Robert Lewandowski, who stayed on the bench for the whole match.

Torres scored Barcelona’s first goal by running behind the defence and tapping in a pass from Jules Koundé. Two minutes later he volleyed home another cross, this time from Bardghji. He completed his hat-trick before halftime with a shot from outside the area that took a deflection.

Bardghji Makes His Mark

Bardghji made only his third start since joining Barcelona from Copenhagen. He was confident on the ball and set up Torres for the go-ahead goal. He then scored himself with a powerful strike from just inside the box to make it 3–1. His performance will give Flick more options in attack moving forward.

Yamal in a New Role

Lamine Yamal played in a central creative role instead of on the right wing. He was involved in Barcelona’s passing move on the opening goal and later converted a penalty after Marcus Rashford’s shot hit the raised arm of Marc Bartra. The penalty made it 5–1 in the 59th minute.

Late Betis Goals

Betis scored early through Anthony and later added two late goals from Diego Llorente and a penalty by Cucho Hernández after Koundé fouled Abde. Rashford nearly scored a sixth goal for Barcelona but dragged his shot wide when clean through.

Looking Ahead

Lewandowski and Raphinha stayed on the bench, meaning they will be fresh for the Champions League match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday. Fermín López returned as a substitute after missing two games with a leg injury.
