Arsenal 2025/26 Season Preview
Arsenal enter the new Premier League campaign with one clear mission – to finally turn years of progress into a league title. After back-to-back second-place finishes, Mikel Arteta’s side are once again tipped to challenge at the very top.

Strong Summer Rebuild
It was a busy transfer window in north London. New sporting director Andrea Berta oversaw a spending spree of more than £200 million, bringing in six players to strengthen the squad.
The headline arrival is striker Viktor Gyökeres, signed to solve Arsenal’s long-standing problem up front. Midfield has been bolstered with Martín Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard, while winger Noni Madueke, defender Cristhian Mosquera, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga add depth across the pitch.

Arteta Under Pressure
Now in his fifth year, Mikel Arteta has delivered an FA Cup and a Champions League semi-final, but the Premier League remains out of reach. With heavy investment and a squad close to its peak, this season feels decisive. Another near miss could raise questions about his project.
Youth and Creativity
Arsenal fans are excited about youngsters Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who both signed long-term contracts. Nwaneri, in particular, looks ready to play a bigger role after some impressive cameo appearances.
Still, there are concerns over creativity. Captain Martin Ødegaard had his lowest league goal return since joining permanently, and he must rediscover his spark. His partnership with Bukayo Saka will be key, especially with Gyökeres waiting for service.

Off the Pitch
The departure of Edu in January caused uncertainty in the transfer market, but Andrea Berta’s arrival has steadied the club’s direction. Arsenal’s owners continue to back spending, though fans paying some of the league’s highest ticket prices now expect silverware in return.
Prediction
Arsenal have spent big, improved depth, and look closer than ever to ending their 20-year wait for the title. But with Liverpool and Manchester City also strong, many predict another 2nd-place finish.
One thing is certain: this season could define Arteta’s era.
