Arsenal March On as Jesus Sinks Inter in Milan
Jesus Double Fires Gunners Into Champions League Last 16
Arsenal confirmed their place in the Champions League last 16 with an impressive 3-1 win over Inter Milan at the San Siro on Wednesday night.
Gabriel Jesus was the star of the show, scoring twice in the first half to put Mikel Arteta’s side firmly in control, before substitute Viktor Gyökeres sealed the victory late on.
The result made it seven wins from seven in Europe for Arsenal, who remain the only team in the competition with a perfect record and are now guaranteed a top-two finish in the 36-team group.
Fast Start Sets the Tone
Arsenal struck early, taking the lead after just 10 minutes. A flowing move involving Eberechi Eze, Mikel Merino and Myles Lewis-Skelly ended with Jurriën Timber’s effort being turned home by Jesus from close range.
Inter responded eight minutes later through Petar Sucic, whose powerful strike from the edge of the area left David Raya with no chance after sustained pressure from the hosts.
The equaliser briefly lifted Inter, but Arsenal quickly regained control, with Jesus restoring the lead in the 31st minute. Bukayo Saka’s inswinging corner found Leandro Trossard, whose header back across goal was nodded in by the Brazilian from under the crossbar.

Arsenal Control the Second Half
After the break, Arsenal continued to look the more composed side. Eze and Trossard both went close, while Saka repeatedly troubled Inter’s defence with his direct running.
Inter had moments of promise but struggled to seriously test Raya, as Arsenal’s back line dealt comfortably with most threats.
Jesus nearly turned provider just past the hour mark before Gyökeres, introduced from the bench, wrapped up the win six minutes from time with a clean strike from the edge of the box.
Perfect Record Maintained
The victory ensures Arsenal will host the second leg of their knockout tie and puts them firmly among the tournament favourites.
With one group game remaining at home to Kairat, where a point will secure top spot, Arteta’s side continue to build momentum as dreams of a first Champions League title gather pace.
