Paquetá eyes Flamengo return as Guéhi leans toward Bayern
Paquetá pushing for Flamengo move
Lucas Paquetá could be heading back to Brazil, with Flamengo exploring a deal to bring the West Ham midfielder home.
According to reports, Paquetá has already agreed personal terms with the Brazilian club and is keen on a return to his boyhood side. Flamengo are prepared to put around €40 million toward the transfer, although negotiations with West Ham are still ongoing.
The situation intensified after Paquetá reportedly asked not to feature in West Ham’s FA Cup win over QPR, fuelling speculation that his exit could come sooner rather than later.
Guéhi prefers Bayern over Premier League giants
Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi is attracting interest from across Europe, but Bayern Munich are believed to hold a key advantage in the race for his signature.
The England international is said to favour a move to Germany rather than joining Manchester City or Manchester United. Bayern are hopeful of signing Guéhi on a free transfer in the summer, while City would prefer to act immediately due to defensive injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Rúben Dias.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring the 25-year-old’s situation closely.
Manchester United close to interim decision
Manchester United are hoping to appoint an interim manager within the next 48 hours following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim.
Michael Carrick is understood to have growing support within the club and the current squad, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also held talks regarding the role. A decision is expected imminently as United look to stabilise a turbulent season.
MLS move rejected as Sargent standoff grows
Toronto FC have submitted an $18 million bid for Norwich City striker Josh Sargent, but the Championship club have made it clear the USMNT forward will not be sold during this window.
Sargent refused to play in Norwich’s FA Cup win over Mansfield, prompting a strong response from manager Philippe Clement, who warned there would be consequences for the player’s actions.
