Ousmane Dembélé Named Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025
Champions League triumph seals individual honour
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé was crowned the Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2025 on Tuesday, capping a landmark season in which he helped the French club win the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history.
The France international finished ahead of Barcelona and Spain prodigy Lamine Yamal, repeating the same order as the Ballon d’Or vote earlier this year. Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé, Dembélé’s international teammate, was the third finalist after an impressive start to life in Spain.
Career-best season in Paris
Dembélé enjoyed the most productive campaign of his career, scoring 35 goals in 53 appearances across all competitions. His contributions were central to PSG completing a historic treble, adding Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France titles to their long-awaited Champions League crown.
Beyond European success, the 28-year-old also made a decisive impact on the global stage, scoring twice as PSG reached the final of the inaugural 32-team Club World Cup. His combination of end product, consistency and influence in decisive matches proved decisive in the eyes of voters.

PSG dominance at the awards
It was a night of celebration for Paris Saint-Germain at the ceremony in Doha, Qatar. Head coach Luis Enrique was named Best FIFA Men’s Coach, underlining the collective strength behind the club’s breakthrough season on the European stage.
The awards also highlighted Barcelona’s continued influence in the women’s game. Spain midfielder Aitana Bonmatí claimed her third consecutive FIFA Best Women’s Player award, while England head coach Sarina Wiegman was recognised as Best Women’s Coach.
From promise to leadership
Once seen as a mercurial talent struggling for consistency, Dembélé has transformed into one of world football’s most decisive attackers. His evolution into a leader within PSG’s squad, combined with his ability to deliver on the biggest stages, has now been rewarded with football’s most prestigious individual honour.
For PSG, the award further cements 2025 as a defining year, not only ending their European drought but also placing one of their stars firmly at the summit of the global game.
