Barca collapse avoided as Yamal delivers again
Teen star saves Barca in dramatic Champions League clash
Barcelona needed every ounce of magic from Lamine Yamal to escape with a 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in a wild Champions League night in Belgium.
It was chaos from the start. Carlos Forbs tore through Barca’s defence, scoring twice and setting up Nicolo Tresoldi, while the visitors had to rely on goals from Ferran Torres, Yamal, and a late own goal from Christos Tzolis to rescue a point.

Forbs runs riot as Barca stumble early
Brugge started furiously at the Jan Breydel Stadium, exposing Barcelona’s fragile high line. Forbs raced behind the defence time and again, creating the opener for Tresoldi before firing in a brilliant second after linking up with Tzolis.
Barca did find moments of quality, with Fermin Lopez hitting the post and Ferran Torres finishing smartly to equalise once. But their defensive issues never went away. Even Jules Kounde’s fierce strike against the bar summed up their frustration.
Yamal leads the fightback
If there was a bright spot, it was Yamal. The 17-year-old winger was electric, combining with Lopez for a beautiful goal to make it 2-2. His touch, speed, and composure stood out, showing why Hansi Flick trusts him even in chaotic matches like this.
Forbs briefly restored Brugge’s lead with a calm chip past Wojciech Szczesny, and the hosts thought they had a penalty soon after — but VAR overturned the decision.

VAR drama and late relief for Barca
As the tension rose, Yamal again took charge. His curling effort deflected off Tzolis and beat goalkeeper Nordin Jackers, sparking wild celebrations from the away end.
There was still time for another heart-stopping moment when Brugge’s Romeo Vermant appeared to score after colliding with Szczesny, but VAR once more stepped in to disallow it for a foul.
Barca were lucky to escape with a draw, their defending chaotic but their spirit undeniable. Yamal, though, was the difference — a teenage star carrying an entire club through turbulence.
