Chelsea’s Teen Army Crush Ajax in 5–1 Show!

Teenage Dream: Chelsea’s Young Guns Run Riot Against Ajax

It was a night that belonged to the kids. Chelsea’s fearless youngsters tore Ajax apart in a stunning 5–1 Champions League victory — breaking records, dazzling the crowd, and proving that Enzo Maresca’s faith in youth is paying off in style.

History in the Making

From the first whistle, this wasn’t the Ajax of old. The Dutch side looked lost, and Chelsea’s energy overwhelmed them. When Kenneth Taylor saw red after just 15 minutes for a reckless tackle on Facundo Buonanotte, the tone was set. Ten-man Ajax never recovered.

Moments later, Chelsea struck. From the resulting free kick, Buonanotte’s cross found Wesley Fofana, who nodded the ball into the six-yard box for Marc Guiu to tap home. At 19 years old, Guiu became Chelsea’s youngest ever scorer in the Champions League — but that record wouldn’t last long.

Goals, Goals, and More Goals

The floodgates opened. Moisés Caicedo doubled the lead with a long-range strike that deflected past the helpless Ajax keeper. Wout Weghorst briefly gave the visitors hope with a penalty, but within minutes, chaos returned — and it was Ajax’s own doing.

Weghorst turned villain at the other end, conceding a clumsy penalty on Enzo Fernández, who calmly restored Chelsea’s two-goal lead. Before halftime, Josip Sutalo handed the hosts another spot-kick, and 18-year-old Estêvão Willian smashed it home with confidence well beyond his years.

That made it four before the break — something Chelsea hadn’t done in the Champions League since 2011.

Teen Power Takes Over

In the second half, the teenage takeover continued. Tyrique George, just 19, came off the bench and drilled a perfect shot from the edge of the box to make it 5–1. With three teenage scorers in one Champions League match, Chelsea made tournament history.

Maresca used the comfortable lead to hand another debut — 17-year-old Reggie Walsh became the club’s youngest-ever player in the competition. The coach could finally relax, watching his young squad put on a performance full of promise, hunger, and joy.

A Glimpse of the Future

Ajax looked broken and out of ideas, while Chelsea looked like a team reborn — fast, fearless, and full of potential. If this match was a glimpse into the future, it’s looking very bright in blue.
