Two Goals, Three Points! Haaland Does It Again!
The Norwegian machine keeps rolling — two more goals and Manchester City are back on top.
Manchester City returned to the Premier League summit after a hard-fought 2–0 win over Everton, and once again, it was Erling Haaland who made the difference.
For nearly an hour, City struggled to break through a stubborn Everton defense, but when the moment came, Haaland was there — twice. The striker now has 11 league goals already this season, reminding everyone that even when City aren’t at their best, he always is.

Everton Hold Firm… Until They Don’t
David Moyes’ team arrived at the Etihad with a clear plan: stay compact, frustrate City, and hit them on the break. For long stretches, it worked.
Iliman Ndiaye caused real problems for the home side, testing Gianluigi Donnarumma early on and linking up well in attack. Beto, however, missed a golden chance to put the visitors ahead — and that would prove costly.
City looked flat, their tempo slow, and the crowd restless. But when you have Haaland, patience pays off.
The Breakthrough
The first goal came just after the hour mark. Youngster Nico O’Reilly whipped in a teasing cross from the right, and Haaland rose above everyone to power home a header. Relief swept through the Etihad.
Minutes later, he struck again — this time with a smooth, clinical finish after a clever pass inside the box. In a flash, City were two goals up, and the contest was done.
It wasn’t vintage Pep Guardiola football — no flashy passing or endless control — but it was efficient, ruthless, and effective.
Haaland’s Hot Streak Continues
While City are still finding their rhythm this season, Haaland is already miles ahead of the pack. His 11th goal in the league puts him five clear at the top of the scoring charts.
For Everton, the story was familiar: effort and energy, but no end product. One goal between their main strikers all season tells its own tale.
As for City, four wins and a draw since their shaky start now have them sitting comfortably at the top. If Haaland keeps scoring like this, that Premier League trophy might not be going anywhere.
