Militao Screamer & Mbappé Strike Keep Real Madrid Perfect
Real Madrid’s flawless start to the La Liga season rolled on with a gritty 2–0 victory at Espanyol, making it five wins from five. It wasn’t always pretty, but moments of brilliance once again carried Los Blancos.
Militao lights up the night
For much of the opening half, Espanyol sat deep, defending with discipline and frustrating Madrid’s fluid attack. Chances were few, but the breakthrough came out of nowhere.
Eder Militao stepped forward and unleashed a thunderbolt from 30 yards that rocketed into the top corner. The Brazilian defender’s wonder strike silenced the home crowd and gave Madrid a lead they badly needed.

Mbappé doubles the advantage
Right after the restart, Espanyol switched off – and Real punished them. Vinicius Jr. found space on the wing and slid the ball across to Kylian Mbappé, who was inexplicably unmarked on the edge of the area.
The Frenchman drilled a low shot inside the near post to make it 2–0, his seventh goal in just six appearances this season across all competitions. His clinical edge continues to be the difference-maker for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

Bellingham makes his return
Late on, there was another big moment for Madrid fans as Jude Bellingham stepped back onto the pitch. The England midfielder, who had shoulder surgery in the summer, came on in the 89th minute for his first action since the Club World Cup.
Espanyol’s run ends
The defeat ended Espanyol’s strong early-season form, having collected 10 points from their first four matches. Despite their defensive discipline for much of the night, Madrid’s individual quality proved too much.
For Real, it’s five wins out of five – and another statement that they intend to fight for the title all the way.
