Jobe Bellingham Leads Dortmund’s Exciting Transfer Wave
Borussia Dortmund have had a busy summer, reshaping their squad with a mix of young talent and proven players. One of the headline arrivals is midfielder Jobe Bellingham, who joins from Sunderland and follows in his older brother’s footsteps at BVB. The 20-year-old will wear the No.77 shirt at the Club World Cup and has signed a deal until 2030, adding energy and creativity to the midfield. Another key signing is Yan Couto, the Brazilian right-back, who Dortmund secured permanently after a loan spell at the club. Couto made 30 appearances last season and is expected to strengthen the defence with his pace and defensive skills.

The Bundesliga side have also brought in English midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, returning from a loan at Dortmund after making 17 appearances last season. Portuguese forward Fábio Silva joins from Wolverhampton Wanderers on a five-year deal, aiming to boost Dortmund’s attacking options. Swedish left-back Daniel Svensson also arrives, with the club triggering an automatic purchase option to secure his services. Argentine defender Aarón Anselmino and German goalkeeper Patrick Drewes provide additional depth, with Anselmino joining on loan from Chelsea and Drewes signed to back up the goalkeeping department.
Several players have left the club as Dortmund continue to refresh the squad. English forward Jamie Gittens makes a £48.5 million move to Chelsea after an impressive breakthrough season. Defender Soumaïla Coulibaly joins Strasbourg, while USA international Giovanni Reyna completes a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Young forward Youssoufa Moukoko leaves for FC Copenhagen, and Guille Bueno moves to Real Valladolid. Veteran striker Sébastien Haller departs for FC Utrecht, while goalkeepers Diant Ramaj and Robin Lisewski head out on loan to Heidenheim and Nuremberg, respectively. Kjell Wätjen also leaves on loan to Bochum to gain valuable experience.

This summer has seen Dortmund make strategic moves to build for the future while maintaining competitiveness in the Bundesliga and Europe. With exciting additions like Jobe Bellingham, Fábio Silva, and Yan Couto, the team looks fresh and dynamic. At the same time, losing key players such as Jamie Gittens and Giovanni Reyna will challenge the squad to adapt quickly. Fans will be eager to see how new and returning players combine under the guidance of the coaching staff, as Dortmund aim to compete at the highest level both domestically and internationally.
